Environmental benefits of Albeo LED lighting include reduced carbon emissions and no mercury. Albeo products provide a direct reduction in carbon emission by reducing a facility’s energy load which uses electricity generated by coal burning power plants. Albeo fixtures are between 60% and 30% more efficient than traditional lighting technology such as fluorescent and HID.
Additionally, all traditional lighting technology contains mercury which is a deadly neurotoxin and has to be disposed of properly. Albeo customers can completely eliminate mercury from the waste stream which consequently eliminates recycling costs.
Albeo has a track record of environmental stewardship. Albeo has been designing and building energy efficient lighting for over 5 years. Based on a record 2009 sales year, Albeo customers will collectively save 683 MWh of electricity and prevent 8.9 million pounds of CO2 from entering the atmosphere over the next 10 years. This figure is a conservative estimate as it ignores additional gains from electronic motion controls which are easily integrated with LED lights.
