Orange County Convention Center's Green Initiative Includes Albeo LED Lighting
Albeo Technologies Inc. is supplying its award winning C-Series solid-state low bay to Florida's Orange County Convention Center (OCCC), the nation's second largest, as part of their green initiatives to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.
Boulder, CO (PRWEB) February 1, 2010 -- Florida's Orange County Convention Center (OCCC), the nation's second largest, is leaping ahead with their environmental stewardship through a wide range of green initiatives. Albeo Technologies Inc. is supplying its award winning C-Series low bay to the convention center for a number of retrofit projects. In the first project, Albeo's 75W C-Series Low Bay was used to replace aging 400W Metal Halide fixtures to deliver a savings of 325 Watts per fixture. The combined energy and maintenance savings achieved with Albeo's solution resulted in a payback of less than one year. This installation is estimated to eliminate over 1,400,000 lbs of carbon over the life of the installation.
"Albeo is proud to be part of Orange County Convention Center's Green initiatives and sustainability projects. In commercial spaces like OCCC lighting is often one of the major electrical loads and with paybacks of less than one year, why install anything other than LED lighting?" said Paul Winker, Director of Business Development at Albeo. "Orange County's commitment to deploy green technologies and educate the public through its Climate-Change Education Center is exemplary."
The Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) offers a seven-million-square-foot facility, with 2.1 million square feet of exhibition space, making it the second largest convention center in the U.S. Each year, the OCCC brings more than 250 events to the Central Florida area. As a result, roughly 1.4 million attendees contribute approximately $1.9 billion to the area's economic impact annually. For more information about the OCCC, visit our Web site at www.occc.net
