First LED Lighting Company to Directly Address Industry Confusion

today announced the immediate availability of lighting efficacy data
for all variations of their Talea™ advanced LED lighting systems
to directly address perceived consumer confusion in the LED light fixture
industry. The data is now available at http://www.albeotech.com/pdf/EFFICACY_TABLE.pdf,
and indicates how many lumens Albeo’s Talea fixtures provide per
watt of electrical input.
Albeo is publishing their efficacy data in response to recent reports
from the US Department of Energy indicating that consumers may be confused
about efficacy measurements and the effect of system elements on overall
performance. Because fixture efficacy can vary greatly with color temperature,
lot-to-lot LED component variation, fixture design, use of lenses or
diffusers, environmental considerations, and other factors, it generally
cannot be easily summarized by a single figure for an entire product
line. Moreover, total LED lighting system efficiency is also dependent
on the efficiency of the dc power supply, a system component typically
manufactured by a third party, not the fixture manufacturer.
Albeo is taking the lead in clearing up the confusion around this topic
by making detailed efficacy estimates available for all their products. “Even
though efficacy may not always be the key customer decision factor, for
the times that it is we want to make sure we provide the best possible
